It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Stephen Gibbons age 52 of Amherst announce his sudden passing on Monday, December 5, 2011 at home.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of Joan (MacDonald) Gibbons of Amherst and the late David Gibbons.
He worked for Acadian Lines in Amherst for many years.
Mike was a loving son, brother, father and grandfather who was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help and was very well liked by all who knew him.
He will be very sadly missed by his loving daughter Krista (Justin) Arseneau of Amherst, his loving sons Michael "Little Dude" (Madeline Ross) of Amherst and Lee (Melanie) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, one granddaughter Maddison, and one grandson Chace.
Besides his mother ,Mike is also survived by four sisters Patricia (Jeff) McFadden of Amherst, Holly (Frank) Hamilton, Debbie Leggett (Barry) and Kim (Calvin) McFadden all of Sackville, NB, five brothers Eric (Liz) and Darrell both of Amherst, Ricky (Lidya) of Blacks Harbour, NB, Nelson (Barb) and Hughie (Sue) both of Hamilton, ON as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by one brother Peter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Memorial donations in Mike's memory may be made to Canadian Diabetic Association or charity of your choice.
