The family of Nathan James Kettle sadly announce his passing on December 5, 2011, at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, age 80 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Patricia (Brophy) of 59 years, and his five sons: Calvin (Lesley) at London, ON, Randy (Karen) at St. John’s, Blair (Jill) at St. John’s, Robert at London, ON, and Michael (Sherry) at London, ON; his grandchildren: Matthew and Sarah Kettle, Molly Kettle, Jessica and Lucas Kettle, and Joshua, Lorena and Alysha Kettle. Also leaving to mourn his siblings: Alricha Smith (Muir) at Halifax, NS, Audrey Oldford at Gander, Wilson Kettle (Viola) at St. John’s, Dorothy Neale at Toronto, ON, Daisy Currie at St. John’s, and Genevieve Lipkus (Shelly) at Halifax NS. Lovingly remembered by brothers and sisters-in-law: Ivy Kettle, Ingrid Kettle, Gerald Humber (Barbara), Grace Brophy, Calvin Brophy (Ethel), Jim Brophy (Joan) and Florrie Stansford. Predeceased by his parents Howard and Esther (Spencer) Kettle, brothers: Howard and Stephen Kettle, and by sisters: Jean Grunig and Geraldine Huntsman. Also predeceased by his parents-in-law John & Cassie (Humber) Brophy, and by brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul Huntsman, Conrad Oldford, Gerald Currie, Micky Grunig, Kathleen (Lloyd) House, Margaret (David) Alexander, Reginald Brophy and Ross Brophy. Visitation will take place at Barretts Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., St. John’s on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, St John’s.
