Edna Mitton
MITTON, EDNA B. - Edna B. Mitton, 95, of McKees Mills, passed away peacefully at The Spencer Memorial Home on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, following a brief illness. Born in McKees Mills, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (MacDonald) Colbourne. Edna was a retired Lab Assistant at The Moncton Hospital. She was a member of McKees Mills Baptist Church and a member of the WMS. Edna attended Zion United Church and was a member of the Zion United Church Ladies Aid. She was a Veteran of WWII, having served overseas in England and Europe with the CWAC (1942 – 1945). Edna enjoyed quilting, knitting, doing all types of needlework, socializing with her friends and spending precious time with her family. Edna will be deeply missed by her son, Robyn and daughter-in-law, Karen of McKees Mills; precious granddaughters, Jennifer (Steve), April Rayne (Byron); sister, Pearl Kelly of Moncton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Asa A. Mitton (August 2004); sisters, Greta, Vera, Bertha, Blanche, Ruby and Daphne; brothers, Hardie and Hinson.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 9, 2011, 3:30 pm, Rev. Claudia Keller and Rev. G. Boyd Butt officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, McKees Mills.
