SNELGROVE, CHESLEY FREEMAN - 1929-2011 -
Chesley Freeman Snelgrove, 82, of Germantown passed away on December 5th, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer with his family by his side.
Chesley was born in Hillsborough on December 1st, 1929, the son of the late Ephriam and Ester (Pettett) Snelgrove. He worked as a stone cutter in Halifax, NS until moving his family to Michigan from 1963 to 1972 and then he and his family moved back to Tantallon, NS where he owned and operated Tantallon Monument Works. After his retirement he and his wife Elinor moved to Germantown, NB in 1992. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many years of camping, hunting, fishing and trapping.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Beverly Anne Hibnar of St. Joseph, Michigan; his son, Jeffrey Snelgrove and wife Karen of Tantallon, NS; his three treasured grandchildren, Michelle Hines, Vanessa Snelgrove and Brian Snelgrove; his five cherished great grandchildren and one precious great-great granddaughter; his brother, Ronald Snelgrove (Jean) of Forest Dale Home, Riverside-Albert. He will also be sadly missed by all his extended family- "The Weir Family", who meant so much to him and by several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elinor (Weir) Snelgrove; daughter, Mary Anne Vienneau; brother, Les Snelgrove and sister Kay Brown.
The family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Albert County Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon, December 10th, 2011 from 1:00 to 4:00pm for a time of reminiscing and sharing memories - refreshments will be served. He will be laid to rest in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB beside the love of his life and best friend, Elinor. "Together Again"
