With extreme sorrow and pain in our hearts, we regret to announce the passing of our precious mother Surinder Kaur Basran, and wife to Harbhajan Singh Basran, on Friday, December 2, 2011 in Kamloops, British Columbia at the age of 62.

Her memory will always be cherished by her husband Harbhajan, daughters Harjit (Paul), Manjit, Ranjit, and Dimpi, son Rajbir, brother Jagtar Singh Bains, and sister Jagdish Kaur Gill.

Our Mom was born in Nangal Khurd, India. She became a primary school teacher after completing her degree in New Delhi. She was married in 1971 and immigrated to Canada in 1977. She settled in Clearwater, B.C., joining her husband, where she raised four daughters and one son. Surinder was a loving and caring mother, wife and daughter. Her kindness, smile and warmth brought comfort, stability and light into the lives of her family. She was a generous, thoughtful and selfless person.

Our hearts are going to ache forever from this tremendous loss.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive.

Service to follow at the Kamloops Sikh Gurdwara, 700 Cambridge Street.
