Clarice Alice (Ivany) White

Clarice White passed peacefully away the morning of December 8, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by family at the Dr. L. A. Miller Centre in St. John’s, NL. Clarice (Ivany) White was born to Charles and Gladys Ivany in Shoal Harbour, NL. She met her life-long partner and husband, Raymond White, in Princeton, NL after her father was stationed there with the railway. In 1956 they married and together raised five children and were special grandparents to seven grandchildren. Clarice devoted her life to raising her children and being a special part of her grandchildren’s lives. Clarice was a member of the United Church and an active member for many years with the United Church Women. Clarice will forever be remembered as a caring mom who always brought her family so much happiness through all the ways she gave of herself and made the home a place of comfort and love. In the last year, the determination, strength, and wit she showed in the face of illness will forever be an inspiration to all those who loved her. Memories of her will always be a special gift. Clarice is predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond White and parents Charles and Gladys Ivany. Left to mourn are her children Don (Gay), Glenda (Morley), Barry (Carol), Karen (Aubrey), and Scott (Gui). Grandchildren Steven and Sara, Allison, Alexander, and James, Russell and Benjamin. Brothers, Alonzo (Isabelle), Herman, Lloyd, Boyd (Mary), and Orrin (Ruby), sister, Anetha, and sister-in-law, Emily. Rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Lethbridge, NL. A celebration of Clarice’s life took place at the United Church in Lethbridge, NL on Sunday, December 11, 2011 with interment at the United Church Cemetery in Princeton, NL. Donations in her memory may be made to Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, St. John's.
