Earl Barss

Earl Burton Barss, 89, of Grant St., New Glasgow, passed away December 9, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Harbour, Guysborough County, NS, he was a son of the late James L. and Edith (Nickerson) Barss.
He was a resident of New Harbour before moving to Trenton in 1954. He was a retired Stationary Engineer having been employed at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow.
He had been a member of the former Calvary Temple Church in New Glasgow and was a veteran of World War II having served in Europe with the Royal Canadian Engineers.
Earl is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife the former Theresa Jeans; sisters: Ethel, Marguerite, Rose and Velma; brothers: Owen, Basil, Ivan, Martin, Roland, Laurie and Morris.
There will be no visitation at the request of the deceased. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday in Hillside Cemetery, Trenton with Pastor David Connolly officiating.
Donations in memory of Earl may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society
