It is with deep regret and sorrow that we announce that Lewis Edward Paul Lewis passed away suddenly Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009. He was the beloved son of Cecilia Paul Marshall and the late Wilbur Lewis and the stepson to Mary Francis.
Lewis was a devoted father and loved his children. He was also a skillful carpenter and painter and an all around handyman. Lewis was known for his generosity and polite nature. He was very friendly and respectful to everyone that knew him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Cassidy Lafford, Destiny Lafford, Charity Lafford (Jolita Lafford), Diego Lewis, Dezmond Lewis (Nikita Dennis); his siblings, Wilbur Lewis Jr. (Rhonda), Eskasoni, Denise Hunt, Maine, USA, Annie Paul (Travis), Chastity Paul (Ritchie), Alexander Francis, Heather Sunshine Lewis, John Toney Lewis, Sabrina Lewis, Lucina Lewis, all from Eskasoni, Thomas Marshall and Kyanne Marshall from Chapel Island. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, as well as his godparents, Brendon and Mary (Mulege) Poulette; and his seven godchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Wilbur Lewis, sister, Wendy Lewis, maternal grandparents, Peter and Bella Paul, paternal grandparents, Martha Lewis and Edward Poulette, aunts, Barbara Cremo, Janie Lewis, Miranda Gabriel and Pauline Lewis, uncle, Allister Paul.
Visitation will take place Thursday, Nov. 12 at the Gabriel Centre after 7 p.m. until funeral mass at 10:30 Saturday, Nov. 14 at Holy Family Church with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
