McGARITY, LINDA MARIE - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Linda Marie McGarity who passed away December 10, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Linda was born May 7th, 1958 to the late Murray and Rita (Doyle) Joyce. She worked for Family Court, Rentalsmen and Service New Brunswick for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was devoted to her daughter Missy and enjoyed TV Bingo and spending time with family and friends. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Arthur; loving daughter Melissa “Missy; step sons Rick (Marilyn), Craig (Tina) and Steve all of Saint John; sisters Brenda Shannon (Rick), Sandy Boudreau (Cliff Boyd), Debbie Doucette (David Daye) all of Saint John, Patty Joyce of Guelph, ON and Joan Cossaboon (Kevin) of Virginia; brother Michael Joyce (Joan) of Dartmouth, NS; special sister-in-law Bonny Cormier and special friend Linda McCullough both of Saint John, 8 grandchildren,, several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by a sister Mary Susan and brother Bobby “Doker”.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Monday and Tuesday, December 12th and 13th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 14th at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
