Peacefully, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, December 11, 2011, of Eileen Shea (nee McGuirk) of Lake Verde, age 79 years.
Beloved wife of the late William Shea and loving mother of Rosemary McGuirk, Wilma Smith, Theresa Laverty (Reg), Julie Shea, Hubert Shea, and John Shea (Linda). Eileen is also survived by nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Smith (John) and Shirley McManus; brothers, Gordon McGuirk (Mary), John McGuirk (Florence) and Ivan McGuirk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Geraldine Shea; parents, Henry and Stella McGuirk; sisters, Doris, Bertha, Tina, Pearl and Isabel; and brothers, Gerald, Clifford, Ralph, Elmer and Eric McGuirk.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Monday, December 12, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 13, at St. Joachim’s Church, Vernon River, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the new St. Joachim’s Hall would be appreciated.
CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:40 p.m.
