Marjorie Kathleen Kressner - 80, New Minas and lately of Halifax died peacefully in her sleep on December 6, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Halifax. She was born June 21, 1931 in Kennetcook to the late Basil and Iva Sheehy, as the youngest and only daughter. She spent her early single years in Windsor but finally settled in Kentville/New Minas with her late husband, Gordon. She will be happy to have joined him as she missed him so. Her passion was bowling which she was able to enjoy until a few months ago. She will be missed by her loving family, daughter, Norma Frank (Eric) of Halifax; grandsons, Michael (Heather), Moncton; Jared at home and the pets she loved; son, Gordie (Mary) of Sackville; and children, Alicia and David. She is also survived by her brother, Ellis (Anne), Windsor; sisters-in-law, Rachel and Gladys of Windsor and Shirley Pickles of British Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Foster, Gerald and Ronnie. She will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place and there was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family Flowers only by request. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society.
