At the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O’Leary, on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, of Barbara Rix formerly of Miminegash aged 94 wife of the late John Burton Rix. Born on March 15, 1915, at Brownville Junction, Maine, daughter of the late Fred and Emma (Stevens) Matthews. Dear mother of Mary (Lloyd) Reeves, Lower Freetown, John “Jock” (Lila), Miminegash, mother-in-law of Marjorie (Andrew) Wood, Howlan. Loving grandmother of Susan Reeves, Victoria, B.C., Lori (Richard) Gallant, Travellers Rest, Dennis (Della) Rix, Miminegash, Tim (Cindy) Rix, Miminegash, Stacey (Tammy) Rix, Howlan, Rev Edward (Sierra) Rix, Philadelphia, Dawn (Jason) Moore, Northam, Abby (Curtis) Banks, East Bideford, Jimmy (Jessi) Rix, Kensington, and 23 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by husband, John Burton, son James, brother Roy, sisters Winifred, Lillian and Mildred. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral will be held Friday, Nov. 13, in the chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Miminegash United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Miminegash United Cemetery Fund or O’Leary Community Health Foundation (Margaret Stewart Ellis Home) would be appreciated.
