Irvin Idt, age 83, of Chaplin, Sask. passed away November 10, 2009. He was born April 10, 1926 near Scottsburg, Sask. Irvin was predeceased by his parents, loving wife Irene, special friend Helen Wiese (Grandma Helen) and sister Mary Woycenko. Irvin leaves to mourn his 8 children: Ivan (Hazel) Idt, Terry (Michelle) Idt, Debra MacLean, Barbara (Mike ) Dingman, Beverly (Gary) Krochak, Vernon (Corrine) Idt, Byron Idt, Iris (Brian) Polley; 23 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brother Victor Idt; brother-in-law John Woycenko; sister-in-law Joyce Idt; nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. Irvin and Irene enjoyed camping and fishing with the kids through the years at the Pumphouse Coulee at Lake Diefenbaker. Irvin liked golfing, playing cards, attending Seniors, and tinkling around the yard and in the garage, fixing the motorhome, power tools or anything that might need some work. He also enjoyed the visiting with the morning coffee pals at the Chaplin Billiards, which he missed dearly in the last two months. Irvin also loved traveling to see the children and grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held at the Chaplin Community Complex, Chaplin, SK, on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate. Interment will follow at the Chaplin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, S7K 2H8, would be appreciated. In living memory of Irvin, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by Prairie Memorial Funeral Home, Chaplin, Saskatchewan.
