Passed peacefully away on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at the age of 73 years surrounded by his family in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Gwendolyn Hounsell. First wife Mary Leah Hounsell (Keats), brother Allan Hounsell, sister Fannie Best. Leaving to mourn wife Rita; daughters: Malvina (Andy) Alexander; Tina (Edgar) Oldford; Mary (Tony) Folkes; son David; stepdaughters: Debbie Gillingham, Brenda (Fred Bulger); Collette (Keith Carter); stepsons: Chris Gillingham (Lynn Underhay); Craig Gillingham; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn brothers: Lloyd (Myra), Aaron (Emma), Ronald (Marie); sister Daisy (Bill Dowding); many nieces, nephews and members of the Loyal Orange Lodge. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Monday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and in St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, Port Blandford on Tuesday 12 noon – 9 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. – 12 noon. from where funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Port Blandford.
