Born Sept. 8, 1947, she was the daughter of Bertha (nee Gaudin) Gallant of O'Leary and the late Justin McCarthy. Predeceased by husband Vincent Gallant. Dear mother to Ann Marie (Granet) Gallant of Halifax; Christine (Richie) Ellsworth of St. Edwards; Allan (Krista) Gallant of Elmsdale; Donna (Terry) Gallant of Whitby, Ont.; and Darrell Gallant of Elmsdale. Loving grandmother to Jason, Greg, Joey, Damien, Breanna, Frankie and Ryley. Dear sister to Peggy (Morgan) Ellsworth of St. Louis; Joanne (Pat) Bernard of Hamilton, Ont.; Charley (Helen) McCarthy of Campbellton; Sandra (Rodney) Wood of Clyde River; Norman (Kim) McCarthy of Hamilton; Mary (Eric) Perry of St. Louis; Hazel (late Reg) Richards of Alberton; Reg (Rosalie) McCarthy of Hamilton; and Jean (Clarence) Clements of Campbellton. She was predeceased by her sons Francis and Stephen (in infancy); two sisters and one brother, Betty Potter, Irene Ellis and Joe McCarthy, as well as a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bernice Gallant and Raymond Gallant. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Monday from St. Anthonys Church, Woodstock, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in the church cemetery.
