Spicer, Carson C. – of East Apple River. Our beloved father Carson Spicer passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 in Bayview Memorial Health Care Centre, Advocate Harbour with his brother, Duncan, by his side. Born in 1926 at East Apple River, he was the first son of John Brenton and Agnes Mae (Johnson) Spicer. He will be missed by his brothers, Clair, Glendon, Duncan and Hedley; sisters, Madeline and Bessie; children, Paul, Brenda, Karen and Bruce; 4 grandchildren; a great grandchild; his many cherished family and friends, especially Lillian. A strong, fiercely independent man, he seemed fearless as he explored life. He supported us in all we did and was as proud that we were his kids, as we were proud he was our father. There was never a doubt he loved us all completely. A decorated Air Force veteran but farmer at heart, plantation owner, big rig driver, log house builder, square dancer and caller, fiddler wannabe, maker of moonshine and activist in his own way, but greatest of all, our Dad, our Hero! Please join us as we celebrate his life on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the Community Centre that Dad built in Advocate Harbour. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
