Olga M. Burgess
Olga Marion Burgess, Peoples Park Tower and formerly of Boundary Creek, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Charlottetown, May 24, 1930, Olga was the daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Beairsto) Proud. In her early working years, Olga was an employee of the Royal Bank and Carvell Bros. Wholesale, both in Charlottetown. She was a member of the Steeves Memorial United Church and a past member of the choir. She was also a past member of the UCW, Beaver Curling Club, Allison Women’s Institute and the Probus Club.
She and her late husband, Ralph (2008), enjoyed travelling to many places including South America, Egypt, Greece and Alaska. They were also well known for their lobster boils and ice-cream making parties.
Survived by her sister Christine Sander (John) of Calgary, brother George Proud (Ann) of Charlottetown; step children Lloyd Burgess (Maureen) of Cairns, Australia, Allison Burgess (Marilyn) of Allison, Margaret Keene (Tony) of Toronto; seven step grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren, a niece and several nephews.
Funeral service was held on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 1:30 p.m. Interment at the Wheaton Settlement Cemetery.
