Marie Jeanette Chiasson, 84, of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Havre Boucher, passed away on December 15, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Cheticamp, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Louise (LeBlanc) Maillet.
Jeanette was a former member of St. Paul's Parish, Havre Boucher. Over the years, she was employed as a housekeeper at a number of parishes, hospitals and convents in Nova Scotia. She was an avid card player and will be fondly remembered for her Acadian cooking.
She is survived by sons: Gerald (Zina), Havre Boucher; Lionel, California; Michael (Mona), Stellarton; Danny, Havre Boucher; grandchildren: Christopher, Amanda, Alana and Chelsea; great-grandchildren: Falon, Colby and Madison; sister, Lucie MacKinnon, Cheticamp.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; brothers, Placide and Napoleon; sisters, Sr. Mathilde and Therese and a sister in infancy.
Visitation will be in St. Paul's Centre, Havre Boucher on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Paul's Church, Havre Boucher on Monday, December 19th at 11:00 am with Father Allan MacPhie presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the N.S. Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
