Stephenville

Phil, loving husband, father, grand-father and friend, passed away on Saturday, December 17th, 2011 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Halifax at the age of 72 years. Phil was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick and joined the RCMP in 1958. He was first stationed in Corner Brook in 1960 when he met his loving wife, Nora Murphy. He then spent the next 36 years posted in a number of communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. In 1994 he retired as a Staff Sergeant from the Stephenville Detachment and resided in Stephenville. Phil was a loving husband to Nora, father to: son Darrell (Verna), daughter Phyllis and a loving grandfather to Andrew and Danielle. He has one brother Bob (Karen) and two sisters, Barbara Degan and Louise Tobin. He will be forever missed by his family and friends. You may share your prayer and condolences with family and friends at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive on Thursday, December 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 23rd from St. Stephen’s Parish on West Street at 10:00 a.m. with a burial service scheduled for a later date.
