On December 16, 2011, Fortunata Cuzzetto peacefully passed away in her 97th year.

Fortunata was born in Grimaldi, Cosenza, Italy on December 10, 1914. She came to Canada in January 1962 to be with her husband.

She was predeceased by her husband, Giustino in 2002, her oldest son Egidio in 1966, her parents Francesco and Rosaria Bruno (Italy), her brothers: Antonio (Giusepppina) Italy, Emilio (Amalia) Sault Ste Marie, Natale (Rosaria) Kamloops and her sisters, Antonietta (Michele) Hamilton, Concetta (Michele) Kamloops and Maria (Gennaro) Italy.

She is survived by her children: Stella (Tony) Alpino and Tony (Elena) Cuzzetto, her brother Paolo (Eugenia) Bruno and nine grandchildren: Colleen (Larry) Prete, Gino Coltellaro, Diana (Ron) Skinner, Lisa (Larry) Cundari, Joe (Michelle) Alpino, Robert Alpino, Justin (Nichole) Cuzzetto, Anthony (Sarah) Cuzzetto and James Cuzzetto. As well as nine great grandchildren: Ryan and Matthew Skinner, Michael Cundari, Rylee and Quinn Alpino, Cate Cuzzetto, Ryan, Reed and Natasha Moser.

Special thanks to Dr. Burris and to the nurses and doctors in the ER ward and Six North, also to the staff at Pine Grove Extended Care Centre.

Prayers will be recited on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cathedral. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation, 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2T1 in memory of Mrs. Cuzzetto would be appreciated.
