At the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Tuesday April 22, 2008, of Joseph F. Doucette of the Maplewood Manor and formerly of Peterville, in his 87th year. Veteran of the Second World War. Born July 21, 1921, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Ann (nee Gaudet) Doucette. He is survived by a brother, Meddie Doucette of Peterville and by a sister, Delia (late Mund) Perry of Tignish. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Mary Doucette of Tignish, as well as his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters Alice Martin, Catherine Downing, Henry, Mildred Perry, Susan Belanger, Edward and Frederick. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Thursday morning from St. Simon and St. Judes Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Maplewood Manor Equipment Fund would be appreciated.
