It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Amelia Leudy on Dec. 20, 2011, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Amanda (Schroder) Petrie.
Amelia was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, walking, doing puzzles and was an avid spoon player.
She is survived by daughters, Wendy and Colleen (James), sons, Trevor (Debbie) and David (Cheryl); sister, Dorothy Scott; and brother, Russell Petrie; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by husband, Vincent, son, Joey, brothers, Wally, Rudy, Johnnie, Earl and sister, Jackie.
Cremation has taken place and a funeral service to celebrate Amelia’s life will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard with Fr. Victor Ozousuanya officiating, followed by burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery and a luncheon at the Parish of Saint Leonard’s Hall, Convent Street. All are welcome.
