Marilyn Elizabeth Atwell - 66, of Kentville, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of Dorothy M. (Forshner) Jones, New Minas and the late Reverend Carl Jones. She had been employed as a caregiver for the past 17 years and enjoyed many artistic and creative hobbies. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Daniel “Dannie”) Seaman, Petite Rivière, Lunenburg County; a grandson, Daniel “Devan”; two step granddaughters, Mariah and Melissa; a step-great grandson, Owen. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her first husband, James Cadger. Cremation has taken place and there was no visitation by family request. A public memorial gathering combined with a reception was held from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will take place in Amherst at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Red Cross, your local animal shelter or the Canadian Cancer Society.
