NEW GLASGOW – Shirley Ann Cromwell, 53, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in Gosport, England, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Lloyd and Elizabeth Ann (Cholmondeley) Cunningham.
Shirley had been employed with McDonald’s, New Glasgow for 11 years before retirement due to ill health. She enjoyed fishing and camping. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, niece and friend.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Cromwell; daughters, Ann (Steve), Lolita (Kevin), New Glasgow; sons: Stephen (Sherry), Montreal, Que.; Shawn David (Johanna), Jonathan (Alisha), Jack Jr. (Rebecca), New Glasgow; sisters: Kari (Dorothy), Ottawa, Ont.; Gwen (Murray), Pictou; Vera (Frank), Pleasant Valley; Barbara (Donald), Durham; Brenda, Penticton, B.C.; brothers, David (Joanne), Red Deer, Alta.; Kenny (Mary), New Glasgow; Robert (Marie), Chilliwack, B.C.; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandson; mother-in-law, Sweedlyn, New Glasgow; aunt, Alice (Doug), New Glasgow; several aunts and uncles.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Bruce.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow.
