The death occurred at the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge on Monday, November 16, 2009, of Ivan Francis Hancock of Belle River, age 74.
Loving husband of Elizabeth (Nicholson). Beloved brother of Jimmy (Gladys), Howard (Fran), Amy (Cecil) Chapman, Winston (Mary), Sadie (Ray) Stewart and June (Wayne) Burley. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Ruth Acorn, Mary (Patrick) Cowden, Alice Whitlock and Miriam Hancock; and bothers-in-law, Willard (Doreen) Nicholson, Malcolm Nicholson, Leonard Grierson and Vernon Hardy.
Predeceased by parents, Chester and Letitia (Cook) Hancock; brothers, John and Cleveland Hancock; and sister, Doris Grierson. Also predeceased by sisters-in-law, Joan Bowes, Jean Hardy and Ellen Nicholson; brothers-in-law, Percy Acorn and George Whitlock.
Resting at Southern Kings & Queens Funeral Home, Murray River, for visitation on Wednesday, November 18, from 7-9 p.m. only.
Funeral service to be held on Thursday, November 19, at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment in Wood Islands Cemetery.
