It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Deveaux (nee MacDonald) on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. She passed away surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Alonzo Deveaux; son, Lloyd Deveaux (Rose); daughters, Bernice Deveaux-Kennedy (Naish), Lynn Moore (Norm); sisters, Betty Gaigneur, Doris Green (Eugene), Laura Harpell, Linda MacDonald; grandchildren, Kristen and Christopher Deveaux; special niece, Amber Harpell and several other nieces and nephews.
Sharon was predeceased by her mother, Cecilia MacDonald, father, Oswald MacDonald, stepfather, Hedley Penney and brother, Gordon MacDonald.
Sharon was employed at Mike’s Lunch for 24 1/2 years.
She will be sadly missed by her many friends and her family.
Visitation for Sharon took place Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 7-9 p.m., for family and close friends at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Lawther officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the palliative care unit.
