Aged 77, passed peacefully away after a lengthy battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Predeceased by parents, Donald and Mary Hogan; brothers: Pat (Hazel), Frank (Peg), Gerald, Kevin, Ed, Paul, Donald (Jean) and Jack (Marjorie) and sisters: Rita and Marge (Andy Richards). He will be remembered for his service to the community in a long and esteemed career as a firefighter. He holds a special place in the hearts and memories of his grandchildren. Left to mourn his loss, are his loving and devoted wife Doreen (Gushue); sons: Jimmy Hogan and Fred Roberts (Christine); daughters: Mary Dee Murphy-Welsh (Trevor), and Lark Sullivan (Gerald); grandchildren: Tara, Janelle and Grant Roberts, Riley Sullivan, Jamie, Jessica, Janessa and Jennifer Murphy; brother Bren (Geri); sister Agnes Trainor; sisters-in-law: Dulcie and Mary Hogan; also leaving to mourn a very large circle of relatives and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Susan King and all the staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Wednesday from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. - 9 .m. Funeral Mass on Friday, November 20th at 9:30 a.m. from St. Teresa’s Church, Mundy Pond Road. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the Vera Perlin Building Fund.
