William Henry (Harry) Wilson
WILSON, WILLIAM HENRY (HARRY) – Passed away peacefully on December 26, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 84. He was the son of the late Alice and Edward Wilson. Harry was born in Orton, England and his family emigrated to Canada when he was 3 years old. They settled in Poodiac, NB. Harry was raised on a small farm with his brothers Dick, Russell, Gilbert, and Bobby. It was here that he learned the importance of a hard day’s work. Harry and his wife Georgina raised their family in East Saint John. A salesman much of his adult life, Harry worked for Fuller Brush, Canada Life, Electrolux and Prudential Insurance. In his retirement, he drove taxi for a number of years. Harry was a very social person who enjoyed a good story and a hearty laugh. Harry is survived by his three sons, Bill (Lorna), Kevin (Karen), Stephen (Rosemary); and his daughter, Beverly Titus; ten grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his companion for the last 27 years, Helen Hacala. He was predeceased by his wife, Georgina (Dempster); his brothers, Bobby and Russell; and his granddaughter, Jacqueline. A special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of 3CS, 3BS and 3BN (Palliative Care) at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their care over the last 8 months.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11 am. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery.
