BOONE, SANDRA GAIL - It is with great sadness that the family of Sandra Boone, of Geary, announce her passing at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Friday, December 23, 2011 after a battle with cancer. Born in 1948 in Barrie, ON, Sandra is survived by her husband of 34 years, Duane, of Geary; sons, Marc Vienneau (Carly), of Winnipeg, Maurice Boone (Angela), of Fredericton; daughter, Charlotte Carr (Zack) Geary; siblings, Janice Murphy (Brendan), of Kelowna, BC, William Tibbits (Patricia), of Geary, Maureen Boone (Cedric), of Grand Bay-Westfield, Steven Tibbits (Hank Overzet), of Moncton; aunt, Beatrice Crawford, of Nanaimo, BC; uncle, Cecil Burridge, of Ontario; aunt, Patricia Rundle, of Cowansville, PQ; uncle, Harold Tibbits (Marge), of Petawawa, ON; many cousins, nieces and nephews; special friends, Debbie Kennedy, Barb Merrithew and Heather Clements. Sandra was predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Margaret Tibbits. Sandra was a member of the NB Antique Auto Club Inc. and Fredericton Decorative Painters Association. She was an accomplished artist and taught tole painting classes for several years. She retired after 37 years service with D.N.D. at Base Gagetown as Secretary for the Deputy Judge Advocate’s Office. She will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched with her love and kindness. Special thanks go to all doctors and staff of D.E.C. Hospital Oncology Unit and Oromocto Hospital for the care and compassion shown during Sandra’s treatment.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, December 28 and 29, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street, Oromocto, NB (357-5100). A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lisa Greenwood officiating.
