It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son, brother, husband and friend Dario Luigi Alberton on Thursday, November 12th, 2009 after a brave battle with cancer. He was 32 years old.

Dario was born in Castelfranco, Italy on October 10, 1977 and came to Canada with his parents Carla and Peter in 1981.

After attending OLPH and North Kam Secondary he went on to complete his Bachelor of Pharmacy at UBC, attended a residency in Seattle and Spokane, and finally returned to Canada to obtain his Doctorate in pharmacy at UBC. It was here he met the woman that would later become his wife, Andréea.

After graduation he landed his dream career at the University Hospital in Edmonton, a town he loved but always complained about it being so cold. During his time in Kamloops and Edmonton, he touched the lives of numerous people and with his charming smile and dedicated personality became friends with everyone he met.

Dario was his own man and he passed away as he lived his life, on his own terms and with his family and friends at his side.

He will be greatly missed by his parents, brother Mark, aunts, uncles, cousins and recently the new arrivals to our family Tatiana (6), Lucas (4) and Marcus (3).

It was his final wish that his friends and loved ones remember him in laughter and that he be laid to rest with his grandfather in Italy, one last journey we will take him on.

A Memorial Mass will take place at OLPH Parish on Friday, November 20th, 2009 at 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Dario's name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, 2 Lansing Square, Suite 804, Toronto, ON, M2J 4P8.
