Born in Kinkora, Prince Edward Island. Des in his 77th year, passed away peacefully at home in Toronto surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday November 17, 2009. Beloved husband of Marie for 53 years. Loving father of Carla (Ben). Cherished grampy of Lisa. He is survived by sisters Elaine, Marjorie (Reg), Regina and Marina and his brothers Eldon, Gerard, George (Linda), Winston and Marcellus, his in-laws Marjorie Roberts, Viola (Frank), Mary (Claude), Theresa, Bernadette (Dave), Gus, Ernest (Kay), Vernon (May), Basil (Wanda), Allan (Theresa), Pius (Janet) and Edward (Donna), his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by parents Aloysius and Sarah Roberts, in-laws Louis and Irene Trainor, Brother Ezekiel, in-laws Ray Smith, George Murphy, Don Whelan, jean and Marilyn Roberts. Resting at the NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue (North of Rexdale Blvd) on Friday from 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00am at St. Benedict Church (2194 Kipling Avenue). Cremation to follow.
