DEMOND, DOREEN F. S. - Doreen F. S. Demond, 80, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre on Monday, December 26, 2011. Born in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late Pte. George and Gladys (Pettigrew) Dahr. Doreen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of Highfield Baptist Church, the Laura Lee Bustin WMS, the Young at Heart Group and the Adult Bible Class. Doreen was a passionate volunteer in her church. She enjoyed her many crafts and spending time with her precious family and dear friends. Doreen will be sadly missed by her husband of 53 years, William "Bill" Demond; sons, Rev. Dr. Allan Demond (Janet), Melbourne, Australia and Charles Demond (Kimberly) of Halifax, NS; grandchildren, Alicia, Rebecca, Heidi, Aaron, Courtney and Nigel; sisters, Doris Mae Haynes (Dennis) of Tidnish, NS, Pauline Thompson (Bert) of Dartmouth, NS and Nova Tambeau of Amherst, NS; brother-in-law, Donald Eisenhauer; as well as several dearly loved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Georgina and her niece, Holly.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service at Highfield Baptist Church on Friday December 30, 2011 at 11:00 am, Rev. Gordon Horsman officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
