ADAM - Our Kortni left us suddenly and tragically on Monday, December 19, 2011. Kortni was born in Swift Current on June 2, 1993, to Kelsey and Karen. Kortni was in grade 12 at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School and had previously attended Oman Elementary and Fairview Middle School. Kortni spent a lot of years attending Cypress Bible Camp, both as a camper and as a leader. She loved being there most of her summers. Kortni made her decision to accept Jesus as her Savior on March 15, 2000, and confirmed her decision with a ceremony at Westbank Bible Camp on June 20, 2004. Kortni had a couple of jobs, one at Dairy Queen and her latest at the Wal-Mart photo lab. Both she enjoyed, not the work so much as the people she worked with. We always heard good stories on the way home. Kortni did lots of volunteering, at the SPCA, lifting sand bags during last spring’s flood, working with and for any good cause at her school, and working behind the scenes at three TeleMiracles. Many people will know she was a good friend and a good listener. She took pride in the fact that people could come to her with anything, and that also made her a terrific babysitter. Children just took to Kortni because of her natural ability to be herself – unassuming, not pretentious, real. She was “herself” and was just recently becoming comfortable and happy with who she was. Some of the things she liked the most were movies! Lots of movies, lots of music and lots of games. Oh, and Archie comics. She had a passion for photography and that was where she was planning to make her future. She had already started taking many pictures, many of which showed her perspective on the world and life around her. Kortni is survived by her Mom, Karen (Mike) Campbell; her Dad, Kelsey (Jessica) Adam; her Brothers, Kaleb and Keith; her Sister, Kendra; her Grandparents, Ben & Marge Banman, and Bill & Rosalene Adam; many Aunts and Uncles, including Kevin, Koreen, Corey, Arlene and families; a lot of other family, cousins, extended family; and many, many friends. The Funeral service was held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 2:00 pm from Eastside Church of God, Swift Current, SK with Dan Nickol officiating. The Family entrance song was, “My Chains are Gone”. The worship team for the service was Lori Peters, Jared Peters, Ben Fehr & Jason Laverdiere. “Better is One Day”, “Blessed Be Your Name”, “How Great is Our God” and “What Child is This” were sung by the congregation. The obituary was read by Uncle Corey Adam, with the eulogy shared by Kaleb and Kendra Adam and a School presentation was brought by Mr. James Kissick. Special music for the Family exit was brought by Delores Falk & Bill Martens, singing, “I’ll Fly Away.” The ushers in the church were Ryan Clothier, Daniel Marchand, Brent Boux & Emmanuel Appiah. Pallbearers were, Corey Adam, Kevin Banman, Rob Harker, Clay Nelson, Brett Campbell & Zane Adam. Donations made in Kortni’s memory, to Cypress Bible Camp or the local SPCA would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
