ROY, LUCIENNE “LUCY” MARY BLANCHE - It is with sadness that we announce the death of Miss Lucienne Mary Blanche Roy (Lucy) of Villa Neguac, formerly of Miramichi (Newcastle). She died at the age of 95 at the Region 7 Hospital after a brief illness. Born in La Tuque, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Leger Roy and Angelique Doucet of Beaverbrook, NB. She is survived by one brother, Orien (Lorraine) Roy of Miramichi and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Edgar (Hedwiedge) of Miramichi, Emile (Mary) of Moncton, Rheal of New Delhi, Ontario, Victorin of Montreal, Clifford of Beaverbrook, Ernest of Montreal and one sister Simone Gallant (Romeo) of Miramichi. Lucy is remembered by her friends at Villa Neguac for her love of music and French fries. She is fondly remembered by nieces Jacqueline, Annette, Gerene and Yvette for many cakes she helped them bake (mud as well as the edible kind) and for dancing the twist all over the kitchen.
Miss Lucienne Roy rested at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Tuesday from 2 to 4. The Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 5 p.m. at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Stanislas Paulin officiating. Organist and soloist was Jacqueline Allain. Readings were by Charles and Justin Charron. Intercessions Prayers was by Adam Patterson. Burial will be in St Mary’s R C Cemetery in the spring. In Lucienne’s memory donations to a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated.
