NEW GLASGOW – Evelyn Mae “Evie” Reddick, age 66, of 191 Old Marsh Road, New Glasgow, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital.
Born in Boylston, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Hartley Jackson and Cora (Morris) Jackson.
She was predeceased by her husband, James “Jay” Reddick; son, James Albert Reddick Jr in infancy; youngest son, Justin Melvin Reddick; sister, Gladys Evans; brother, Henry Jackson.
She is survived by sons: Arthur “Chubby”; James (Sue); Jason; Johnathan (Carrie); daughters: Phyllis (Vernon); Cora “Louise” (Duane); Evelyn “Joel” (Trevor); Joy “Momma” (Wayne); several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nephews.
She was a dedicated and loving mother and housewife that cherished her family very much. She was a member of the Second United Baptist Church.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 3 p.m. Sunday in Second United Baptist Church with Rev. Morley Shaw and Rev. Rhonda Britton officiating. Burial will be in Lorne Street Cemetery.
