The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, November 20, 2009, of Mrs. Mary Alfreda (Freda) Bowtle (nee Gauthier) of Charlottetown, age 84 years.
Beloved wife of the late John R. Bowtle, and dear mother of Gordon (Pat), Edward (June), Jennifer Bowtle, Rose (Harold) MacQuarrie, Liz (Earl) Bruce, James (Debbie), Mike (Sherry), Theresa (Robert) Bruce, Shirley (Robert) Deveaux and Carolyn (Stephen) Buell. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother James (Mary Joyce) Gauthier of Florida, U.S.A., many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fidel and Josephine Gauthier; grandson, Jeremy "Jay" Bowtle; sisters and brothers, Hilda Connell, Dona Doiron, Rita MacKenzie, Emma Joseph, Lillian Bloom, Mitch MacDonald, Emile Gauthier, Claire Falls and Bernard Gauthier.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 Monday morning, then transferred to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
