Predeceased by his father Dr. Thomas Stentaford. Leaving with loving memories his devoted wife, Dorothy; son Kristen (fiancé Rosanna Chilton), daughter Karen (Jamie Burke); mother Jean, sister Karen (Stentaford) Misik; nephew Kurt (partner Heather Joy), nieces Heidi Misik, Kristina (Allison) Lenehan, Natasha (Steve) Taylor; dear great nieces and nephews; Uncle William Parsons, Ithica, N.Y.; Aunt Flora Richards, La Jolla, C.A.
Hunter was a valuable and well respected Director, Wealth Management, Wealth Advisor with ScotiaMcLeod since 1979. He gave much of his time to many charitable causes in both Halifax, NS and St. John’s, N.L. such as the Danny Gallivan Annual Golf Tournament for Cystic Fibrosis and The Newfoundland Rockers Group for the Vera Perlin Society. A member of the board of directors for The Halifax Club, Ashburn Golf Club, and Kings College, Hunter had a tireless, giving spirit that affected many lives. A benchmark of honesty, fairness, and goodwill, Hunter’s calming, wise presence will be greatly missed by his family and friends alike.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22 , 2009 from 1-4 and 6-8 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 23 at 11am at Rockingham United Church, 12 Flamingo Drive, Halifax, N.S.
Interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, St. John’s N.L. at a later date. Donations may be made in Hunter’s name to the charity of one’s choice. Condolences via email may be sent to condolences.snow@ns.aliantzinc.ca.
