WWII Veteran– Passed peacefully away, in the loving arms of his family on November 19th, 2009, at the Caribou Memorial Veteran’s Pavilion, Clarence Smith, age 87 years. Predeceased by his wife Helen in 1999; son-in-law Bob Parrell in 2005; sisters Rosanna Osmond and Annie Collins; brothers: William, George, Ern (Annie), John (Eileen), Fred (Helen); sisters and brothers-in-law: William and Mary Melee, Chris and Mike Reddy, Eileen and Earl Dodd, Harry and Sue Ennis and Cyril Ennis. Left to mourn with loving memories are his daughters: Betty Smith, Sheila Parrell, Harriett (Ed) Short; two sons: Clarence and Paul (Ontario); sister-in-law Peg Ennis and brother-in-law Tom Collins; seven grandchildren: Jeff (Terri Ann) Smith, Anthony Parrell, Yvonne (Philip) Fowler, Christopher (Shawna and Lucas) Parrell, Andrew (Jennifer), Allison and Matthew Short; six great-grandchildren: Bradley Smith, Emilie and Colby Fowler and Andie, Austin and Jasper Short; close family friend Terri Bailey and a special niece Sharon Reddy, as well as many nieces, nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends, especially the caring staff at the Caribou Memorial Veteran’s Pavilion, who lovingly cared for Dad those past 31/2 years. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service on Monday, November 23rd, 2009 at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s, Autism or Heart and Stroke Associations.
