Our devoted wife, mother and grandmother has peacefully gone to heaven on Nov. 22, 2009. Life-long love of Joseph (Dody) King, she was his soul mate, his ‘midnight’, his everything for 63 years.
Mary was the daughter of the late Daniel and Madeline Jessome, and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mom to Joseph (Dorothy), Florence, Daniel (Maria) and Kimberly (Louise), both of Long Island, Lucinda ‘Cindy’ (Norman) MacNeil, Hamilton, Ont.; and daughter-in-law, Sharon. Proud grandmother of Leeann, Lynelle (Walter Jenkins), Elise (Terry Penney), Adam, Matthew (Corine Cann), Shannon, Jena, Toni, Joshua and Kate-Lyn; great-grandmother to Nathaniel, Jacob, Riley, Noah, Elijah, Megan and Hannah.
She was predeceased by Ray, Peter, Marshall, Connie, Michael, Edna, Philomena, Johnena and Margurite.
Mary was a schoolteacher, seamstress, artist and enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She could do anything she put her hand to. She was a member of St. Stephen’s CWL and choir for many years. Mary was also loved by her nieces and nephews.
For the past 10 years, Mary was a resident of the Northside Community Guest Home. The family would like to thank the staff for taking such good care of her.
Anyone who knew Mary was touched by her gift of kindness, gentle touch and love of life.
Ma we love you and will keep you in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held at Francis Funeral Home, Wednesday, Nov. 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Stephen’s Church, Florence, at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, with Rev. Thomas John officiating. Reception to follow at Florence Legion.
