BROCKIE, ROBERT JOSEPH "PAT"- It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Robert "Pat" Brockie of Saint John, devoted husband for 52 years of Joan Ann (Conway) Brockie, who passed away on January 1, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Dublin Ireland September of 1928 he was the son of the late Robert and Annie (O'Neil) Brockie. In earlier years, Pat worked as a Nursing Orderly at the General Hospital where he met his wife Joan; later he worked for the Saint John Regional Hospital, retiring in 1992. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend he enjoyed camping at Keen's Lake in Calais Maine and was the "King of Washers". Besides his wife Joan, Pat is survived by son Michael Devlin (Debra) of Saint John; two grandchildren Sonja Dollar (Ryan) and Joshua Devlin; great-grandchildren Elijah and Avery; sisters Josephine Eidson (Ed) of Florida, Carmel Broe (Tommy) of Dublin, Ireland, Collette Agresti (Jack) of Medford, Oregon, Cathy Poma (Johnny) of Montera, California and Ann Crosbie (Chris) of Limerik, Ireland; many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Pat was predeceased by a brother Barry.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday January 3rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim's Catholic Church 603 Loch Lomond Road, on Wednesday January 4th at 12:00 noon. Private family interment will take place at later date. Donations in Pat's memory can be made to the Kidney Foundation, Heart and Stroke or the charity of the donor's choice.
