Bertha Gallant
GALLANT, BERTHA - Bertha Gallant, 90, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born on July 25, 1921 in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, NB, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Marguerite (Renaud) Roy. She is survived by five daughters: Marie Melanson (Ron), Dolores Belliveau (late Jean-Paul), Cécile Gallant and Jacinthe Bourque (Frank), all of Moncton and Patsy Allain (Ron) of Irishtown; four sons: Gaston (Thelma) of Oklahama City, OK, Gérald, Auguste (Pauline) and Roland, all of Moncton; one former daughter-in-law: Simonne Gallant of Moncton; three sisters: Jeanne Drapeau (Ed) of Montréal, QC, Germaine Bastarache of Bouctouche and Lina Roy of Moncton; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gérard (1997); one sister, Dora and three brothers: Alonzo, Gérald and Edouard “Ned”.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton, on Friday January 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Grande-Digue parish cemetery.
