Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility, Gwendolyn Hilda Mitchell at the age of 90 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters: Lorraine (Gordon) Clarke and Doreen (Jim) Ellsworth; daughter-in-law Jean Mitchell; grandchildren: Colleen (David) Fiander, Tony (Donna) Mitchell, Darlene Mitchell, David (Sheriza) Clarke, Frank (Dawn) Clarke, Janice (Robert) Chin, Nadine (Robert) Stevenson, Sonya (Chris) Hiscock and Andrea Ellsworth; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Bartlett; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Mudge and Catherine Scalzo; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Rendell Mitchell, son Walter Mitchell and sister Beulah Humber. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Michaels’ and all Angels Anglican Church, Park Drive with Rev. Roberta Woodman officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. Michaels’ and all Angels Anglican Church Memorial Fund or to a charity of one’s choice.
