The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Thursday, May 8, 2008, of Elmira Mary Gallant (nee Gallant) of Summerside and formerly of Tignish and Kinkora, aged 84 years. Elmira was born on May 11, 1923, in Alberton, P.E.I., to her late parents Joseph and Denise Gallant. Beloved wife of the late Phillip Gallant and loving mother of Cathy (Edward) Gaudet, Eli (Linda), Norman (Linda) all of Summerside and Theresa (Randy) Bull of Halifax, N.S. Also lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren, Tracy (Leon) Perry, Tina (Chris) Thorne, April (Robert) Wall, Shawn, Melissa, Spencer and Jordan Gallant, her four great-grandchildren Dante Perry, Keegan Perry, Hope Reeves and Skye Thorne. Survived by her sisters Jeanette and Phyllis Handrahan of Tignish, her sisters-in-law Alice Perry of Peterville, Rita Gallant of Tignish, Anne Marie Gallant of Tignish and Denise DesRoche of Tignish. Besides her parents and her husband, Elmira was predeceased by her children, Seymore and Ida in infancy, her brothers Jude, Eloi and Gerry Gallant and her sisters Alma Ellsworth and Delima (Ernest) Gallant. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Saturday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery.
