Passed peacefully away after a short illness surrounded by his loving family at the Health Science Center on January 4, 2012, Patrick Joseph Kennedy, aged 80 years of St. John’s, formerly of Buchans, NL. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Margaret Kennedy of Holyrood, NL, two brothers-in-law Guenter Zunke and Harold Skanes. Leaving with cherished memories his loving and devoted wife Laura (nee Thorne) of 58 years; one daughter Kathy (Stephen) MacDonald of Torbay, NL; one son Kurt (Katherine Laborde) Kennedy of Calgary, AB; three precious grandchildren: Neil Kennedy, Aidan Kennedy and Ewan Kennedy; three sisters: Madeline (William) Scott of Buchans, NL, Geraldine Zunke of Ajax, On and Linda Kennedy of Holyrood, NL, along with one brother, Joseph Kennedy of Niagara Falls, On. Special friends Gordon and Lynn Butt of St. Phillip’s, NL, as well as nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. Private family service and inurnment to take place at a later date.
