Retired long time employee of the City of St. John’s. Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Health Science Centre on Wednesday, January 4th, 2012, Michael J. Smart, aged 79 years. Predeceased by his wife Violet and his first wife Annie. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memoires his son Reg (Judy) Smart; grandson Adam; sister Mary Smart; stepchildren: Rene (Phyllis) Molloy, Janet Molloy, Sherry (Wayne) LeDrew, Cathy (Rick) Chafe, Bev (Dennis) Skinner and families; special nieces and nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Thursday from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 7th, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in his memory to the Lung Association.
