The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 of Leonard Eugene Pineau of Summerside, aged 84 years. Leonard was born on May 21, 1927 in Charlottetown, P.E.I. to his late parents Mosie and Florence (nee Bell) Pineau. Beloved husband of the late Lila (nee MacDonald) Pineau and loving father of Sheila (Kenny) Walsh of St. Eleanors, Lyndon (Kathy) Pineau of Summerside and Sharon (Eric) Paynter of Hamilton, P.E.I. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Tammy Richards, Kent and Mike Walsh, Alyssa Biggar , Stefan and Braylyn Pineau and their mother Gloria Pineau and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sisters Leona Gaudet and Shirley Clow of Summerside and his brother Terry Pineau of Elliot Lake, ON. Besides his parents and his wife, Leonard was predeceased by his brothers Francis and Bazil, his sister Theresa in infancy and his brother-in-law Preston Clow. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment to take place the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations in Leonard's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
