Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, November 21, 2009, Dan Menchinton aged 65 years. Predeceased by his father: Josiah; mother: Sylvia (nee Lane); sisters: Ethel and Levina. Leaving to mourn with fond memories are his wife: Jackie Singleton; daughters: Heather Harrington (Jay) and Kennedy; sons: Gregory and Daniel; grandchildren: Jeremy, Victoria and Leslie Menchinton (and their mother Marylynn), William and Gabe Harrington; siblings: Autumn (Roma), Michael (Carol Ann), Hazel Rideout (Dave), Sylvia Fowler (Frank), Juanita Kinsella (Dwight), Shirley Cox, Josiah, Paul (Deanne), Darlene Whitmore, Sharon Janes and Louis (Carolyn); his special friends of Valleyview Road and Sam’s R. V. Park Ocean Pond as well as his life-long friends and co-workers of The Telegram and Robinson Blackmore. Also leaving to mourn are a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Monday, Nov. 23rd from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, Nov. 24th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cremation will take place after visitation. Funeral service will be held from Gower Street United Church on Wednesday, Nov. 25th at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
