CORKUM, Erin Melanie – 17, of Yarmouth, passed away January 3, 2012 at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax. Born October 27, 1994 in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of Margot Corkum (Peter Graves) and Steven Corkum. Besides her parents, she is survived by brothers, Steven (Lisa) Corkum, Yarmouth; Ryan (Ashley) Corkum, Yarmouth; stepsisters, Allison and Erin Graves, both of Yarmouth; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Joan Corkum; maternal grandmother, Freda Judge; aunts, Janet Wile, Marilyn Doucet, Melanie Judge, Nancy Carson; uncles, Kirby Judge, Murray Judge, and Walter Judge. She was predeceased by sister, Megan Joan Corkum; maternal grandfather, Richard Vernon Judge. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Friday, January 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial service was held Saturday, January 7 at 2 p.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Father Doug Chard officiated. Interment will take place at a later date. Family flowers only, please. The family wishes to acknowledge all of the wonderful people who cared for Erin throughout her illness; the staff of the CF clinic at the IWK, everyone on PMU at the IWK, Dr. and Mrs. Couture and the pediatric staff at Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
