LEBLANC, JEAN-MARIE - 1946 - 2012 - Cocagne – Jean-Marie LeBlanc, 65, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, January 5, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cocagne on August 19, 1946, he was the son of the late Ernest LeBlanc and late Lorette Richard. Jean-Marie was a teacher. He taught at the Dr-Marguerite-Michaud School and the Clément-Cormier High School. Jean-Marie was a Knights of Columbus 4th degree. After retirement, he was very involved in community work and in several associations. Jean-Marie will be sadly missed by his wife, Yvette; his two sons, Julien of Montreal, Sylvain (Marie-Eve) of Moncton; his grandchild, Alexandre; four sisters, Corinne Léger (Charles) of Little Dover, NB, Patricia Walker (Allain) of Drummond, NB, Cécile LeBlanc of Dieppe, Andréa LeBlanc of Chambly, QC; one brother, Rhéal LeBlanc of Berne, Suisse; one sister-in-law, Lucille; one uncle, Jean-Paul Richard (Germaine) of Cocagne, two aunts, Clara Martin (Walter) of Sudbury, ON, Imelda LeBlanc (late Ovila) of Gardner, MASS; the Richard family and several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Paul (May 2011).
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Sunday, January 8 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Monday, January 9 from 2 to 3:30 pm. Funeral service will be at the St-Pierre de Cocagne RC Church on Monday, January 9 at 4 pm. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Fondation Cocagne Inc Scholarship, Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Palliative Care Unit or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
