MASON, RALPH HUGH - Ralph Hugh Mason of Oromocto, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family, on January 5, 2012 at the age of 94. Born in Saint John, NB on February 2, 1917 to the late Frank and Margaret Mason. He is survived by his daughter Joan Mason of Fredericton. Also survived by daughter-in-law Mavis Mason of Ottawa. Seven grandchilden Rosselyne McCaffrey (Mike), Robert Bryant (Andree), Matthew Bryant all of Fredericton; Stephanie Mason and David Mason of Ottawa; and Lori Emmet and Nigel (Joanne) Emmet of Ottawa. He will be greatly missed by his great-grandchildren Allison and Benjamin McCaffrey, Carolyne Bryant and Krystal Craig Rossignol all of Fredericton. He is predeceased by his wife Bertha (Allison) in 2006, his daughter Sandra Emmet and son Brian Mason. Also, his brother George Mason and sister Millie McLeod and grandson Robert Larry Bryant. Ralph was a resident of Oromocto for 53 years. He was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 30 years retiring in 1969 as a MWO in the Ordinance Corps. He served in Germany, Egypt and Cyrpus. Following his retirement, Ralph served as commissionaire at CFB Gagetown for a number of years.
At Ralph's request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place this Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Burton, NB.
